Welcoming The New Governess
Rochester's Lament
Blessed by Jane
Rochester is a wealthy man and became the master of Thornfield Hall after he ingerited it after his brother died years ago. Rochester married a woman by the name of Bertha Mason when he was young, and soon after returning home he found out that Bertha was insane- Rochester then decided to lock Bertha up in the attic and never to speak about her again. After returning to Thornfield Hall after a long absence, Mr. Rochester meets Jane Eyre, the governess who tutors Adele. Rochester and Jane soon fall in love with each other and are engaged. Rochester failed to tell Jane about his insane wife locked in the attic and at their wedding this news is made public and Jane leaves Rochester. During Janes absence, Bertha set fire to Thornfield Hall and burned it to the ground. During this event Rochester was able to save the servants in the house, but was unable to save Betha and she perished in the fire. Due to the fire, Rochester became blind and bitter because he was all alone. Fortunately, one night Jane returned to him and they got married. Jane and Rochester now live happily together with their son.
